NTS Under Fire Over Hiring Process

Islamabad: National Testing Service was set up to conduct the tests of the candidates, who want to get admission in the higher ranking universities and institutes. The parliamentary panel on communication raised the question on the legal status of NTS and Baluchistan Testing Services and showed their grave concerns over the body, which is receiving heavy charges from the unemployed youth, who look for job and they submit their applications, when NTS demands applications from them against the vacant posts.

The Establishment Division asked NTS to carry out the hiring process on behalf of federal government offices and they receive the charges from the unemployed young people. the standing committee of Senate raised the question over the legal capacity of NTS as how it is receiving the fee from the individual after getting advertised the posts. The head of the committee, Senator Muhammad Daud Khan Achakzai said that the government organizations get advertised the vacant posts in the newspapers and the hiring process of the government jobs is left with NTS.

The candidates send their application forms to NTS and also pay at least Rs.1000 each but on asking the questions from NTS about their result, they replied that they could not qualify for the post. Senator Kamil Ali Agha also said that NTS receives Rs.1000 from each individual but they do not call them for written test and interview. He further added that NTS received about 22,000 applications against the four vacant posts and they received Rs.1000 from each applicant but they did not conduct testing or interview of the candidates.

Senator Kulsoom Perveen also said that NTS is fraud and its all activities are totally fraudulent and no one knows how it was formulated and under what legal status, it is working and who is regulating this private department.
CPEC Senator Achakzai directed to put ban on the existing projects, which are now included with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said that the present should stop such activities to mislead the people to make the old projects, part of current CPEC.

He also said that the western route of CPEC has not been given priority despite of the clear instructions of PM. He said that no work has been started on the western route till now. He informed that the chief secretaries of some of the provinces did not attend the committee meeting as they are hiding the facts, which are lying behind the delay in start of the work on the western route.
